Pioneer Trail Park
"Here is a vista of fresh and sparkling beauty. During the high water season the river rushes foaming white and on clear summery days the calm waters mirror a scene of breath-taking beauty in a blending of blue sky, fleecy clouds and green foliage. It is a fisherman's paradise because of the Brook, Brown and Rainbow Trout and Black Bass, all of which put up a good fight. Here picnic tables and benches, stoves, firewood and good drinking water may be had."
Located along the beautiful shores of the Escanaba River, Pioneer Trail Park was named in honor of the many pioneers who passed through the area. Ever a popular place for Escanabans and their guests to rest and relax, the tradition continues to this day, as the park is one of the area's most visited campgrounds and picnic facilities.
